ABOUT THE COSPLAY INITIATIVE
Kasia Celeste Posey, AKA "Skitz Cosplay"
President/Founder/Co-Owner of The Cosplay Initiative, LLC
She started on her venture of Cosplay at DragonCon 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her interests into this community of art and creativity began when she was 7 years old as a young drama and theatre enthusiast. Growing up, like most of us, her favorite holiday was Halloween. She was inspired by the creative designs and makeups that came with Halloween; one of these inspirations was horror make-up. As Kasia matured, she worked hard to perfect her art in the SFX make-up department and eventually was able to succeed in her endeavor of creating not only realistic looking make-ups, but realistic feeling ones as well.
Fast forward a few years she joined the Navy, had a family, and started Cosplaying in California where she is most well-known for her various and unique takes on the Marvel character of Punisher, as well has her various original concepts involving SFX make-up. Kasia has since branched out into other areas of cosplay, most notably her original Drow concept that was recently debuted at the 2016 Long Beach Comic Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California, as well as her original concept Larzana and her original take on Harley Quinn. Of Kasia's many adventures in Cosplay, she went on to create The Cosplay Initiative and then later a multi-verse fandom cosplay convention that we now know as Cos-Losseum, which debuted January 22-24, 2016.
Then, with the help of her right-hand man Christopher “Mr. Fury” Staten, managed to create an event that has all the elements of a convention, but keep it small enough that it is enjoyable and personable in nature. But Cos-Losseum was not meant to just be a Cosplay focused convention, it was also the platform for Kasia and The Cosplay Initiative Team to be able to raise awareness and money for various causes and charities. They have chosen Lupus, an autoimmune disease, as their charity and cause of choice.
“I don’t want this to become a convention that is tied around the premise of trying to make a lot of money; instead my team and I are on a mission to cause a ripple effect of positivity in the Cosplay Community and Conventions. We want to not only give the surrounding community a positive environment to meet people, go to panels, cosplay, etc, but rather we want to push to give back to the community, raise money for causes, and support the overall cosplay community in any and every way we can.”

Christopher "Mr. Fury" Staten
Vice President/Co-Owner of The Cosplay Initiative, LLC
Christopher E. Staten, co-founder of the cosplay initiative has been a member of the cosplay community since 2013, but he has been cosplaying since 2011. He is most noted for his cosplay of Nick Fury, but has done Deadshot (Will Smith), Finn, League of assassins member, and other original concepts.
Christopher grew up in Downey Ca, and was really into 4 major things as a kid, basketball, Dragonball Z, Spider-man, and Power Rangers. As he grew into his teen years, he became a fan of comics, and acting while excelling at basketball, making the varsity team his sophomore year of high school. Although he liked the idea of cosplaying, his mother wasn't in the financial place to get materiel for cosplay or cons for that matter.
In the Spring of 2013, while working for the Walt Disney resort, Chris befriended Stephanie Storm and Kristopher Fox, friends with all like interests, and decided to do Wondercon 2013, and that was the weekend cosplay and con life became their world.
At Stan Lee's Comikaze 2014 while cosplaying a battle damaged Nick Fury, Chris ran into Kasia Posey Cosplaying as the damaged Crossbones from Captain America winter soldier. Hitting it off as friends with Kasia and her then wonderful wife (who was, at the time, pregnant with their first child) they kept in touch after the con, and have since been great friends.
One month after meeting, Kasia proposed an idea for a con and asked Chris for feedback. Giving him a couple of suggestions, and exchanging a few ideas, Kasia created The Cosplay Initiative, and soon, Cos-Losseum! January of 2015, Kasia appointed Christopher Vice President and CFO of The Cosplay Initiative. Since then they have traveled, promoted, team cosplayed, and made the first Cos-Losseum a success.
Since teaming up with Kasia, Chris has branched out into the cosplay community. Becoming a producer for the hit YouTube channel That Hashtag Show, hosting multiple geek meet events hosted by club cosplay, and even being asked to make appearances in cosplay.
